Coffee with a Purpose: Farmer Horse Coffee

There are plenty of coffee shops lining Massachusetts Avenue in Boston, but right across from the street’s Orange Line T station there is one that stands out from the rest: Farmer Horse Coffee.

The shop, located at 374 Massachusetts Ave., is decked out in colorful artwork, plays unique music and offers a friendly vibe for its customers. Farmer Horse also lives up to its motto “Brew with a purpose,” donating $0.10 for every cup of coffee they sell to coffee farmers in Ethiopia, where the owner Kassegn Sirmollo is originally from.

Check out what Sirmollo, barista Andrew Giampa and customer Sami Sherif had to say about the uniqueness of Farmer Horse’s fair trade model and its place in the local coffee scene.
